FiLMiC Extreme 50Mbit H.264 footage captured with FiLMiC Pro camera app on the iPhone 4S, edited in Final Cut Pro X. Basically just testing out grading options, sharpness, tonality, noise and flare etc. with the iPhone 4S as a serious filmmaking tool! The FiLMiC Pro app really makes a different.
All footage captured handheld and with the FiLMiC EXTREME quality option, encoding to H.264 at 50Mbit and variable framerate set to 24p. Noise gets all organic looking at such high bitrates.

Paris, en noir et blanc. by MCelyne
Un film de : Michel Céline
Synopsis : Une Ville : Paris.
Le noir est partout en toile fond. Mais au fond, le noir se doit-il d’être si sombre ?
Errer, écouter, contempler, et se perdre en noir et blanc, pour aussi apprécier les nuances de gris.
Un instant entre espoir et mélancolie.
This is a movie made with a cell phone (Sony Ericsson W810i).

This was shot entirely with the iPhone4 as an experiment to test its limitations. The biggest issue by far was the auto exposure. I also noticed a bit of “jello” here and there. Most of the shots were graded using Magic Bullet Looks. I used The Glif by Studio Neat (theglif.com) to mount the iPhone to a tripod and indiSLIDERmini.
Music is a clip from “Starálfur” by Sigur Rós who graciously allows video producers to use their music in non-commercial projects at no cost. You can download the song for free here: sigur-ros.co.uk/media
Filmed entirely on Nokia N8 smartphones, ‘Pearls’ is a short documentary told by the voices and experiences of Sydney’s homeless.
“La Valigia” is a short I directed for Colombo via della spiga, a high end fashion brand. It was shot on the iPhone 4 and filmed in one day and edited for 3 days. I wanted to push the limits and here’s the result.
A woman. A man. And a bag. This time-warping tale was conceived with a very simple question. This bag that seems to have dated back to 1850′s… who did it belong to? Was it a man? A woman? Like a dreamy European film, “La Valigia” is like a daydream in the autumn afternoon.
